Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport on flight KLM flight # …….. Arrive at 08:30 Pm you will be picked up with our representative from Airport to Moshi where you will be taken strait to lodge where you will meeting the Mountain crew and preparing for the climb. You will have the opportunity to go over any last minute questions, have the crew check your gear. At this point you will also have the chance to leave a bag behind with anything you don't need on the mountain. Your left-behind gear will be secured at the office in Moshi and will meet you as soon as you come down off the mountain. Stay overnight at lodge
Kilimanjaro Trekking
Day 2: Start trekking on Marangu route
Moshi to Marangu Gate 44 Km (28 miles)
Elevation 1800M (5,905 Ft) to Mandara hut 2750M (9,021 ft)
at 8:30 am our representative will pick you from your hotel to Marangu gate where your permit for trekking will be issue. Gate formalities take about 01:15 hrs and then start trekking after introduction to your porters from Chief guide. The route begins at the National Park Marangu Gate at 1800 m. walk through the fascinating rain forest to the Mandara Hut at 2750 m.
Day 3:
Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Mandara hut 2750M (9,021 ft) to Horombo 3780 (12,400 ft)
Km/miles of walking 7km ( 4.43 Miles)
Time taken 5 to 6 hrs
after breakfast we ascend through rolling alpine meadows containing giant Heather trees. Along this leisurely trail we can enjoy the flora and views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. A packed lunch is served on the way to Horombo Hut (3780m ASL). Finally, dinner and overnight is taken at Horombo Hut.
Day 4:
Horombo 3780M (12,285 ft) to Kibo 4,700M (15,420 ft)
Km/Miles of walking 12 Km (7.50 miles)
Time taken 5 to 6 Hrs
After a good night's rest we continue past the cactus-like ground cover and the "last water" stream and moves onto the lunar landscape on the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi Kibo Hut at 4700m.
Day 5:
Kibo Hut to the Summit and the down to Horombo hut.
Kibo 4,700M (15,420 ft) to Summit 5,895M (19,340 ft) back to Horombo 3780 (12,285 ft)
Km/miles of walking 10 km (6 miles)
Time taken 14 to 16 hrs
The start for the summit is made in the early hours of the morning in order to reach Gillman Points - (5680 m) before dawn. From Gillman point one can witness the most spectacular and unforgettable sunrise. One hours walk away is the highest point in Africa, Uhuru Peak at 5895m. The descent is less tiring and the night is spent at Horombo Hut.
Day 6:
Horombo to Marangu gate
Horombo hut 3780M (12,285 ft) to Marangu gate 1800M (5,850 ft)
Km/miles of walking 4 km (2.5 miles) Ascend and 14 Km descend (8.75 miles)
Time taken 5 to 7 Hrs
another half day's leisurely walk and one is back at the Park entrance again where you will meet with our gate representative and drive you back to your hotel for rest to get ready for the next day program.
Day 7: Next destination.
The overall height difference between Marangu Gate, National Park entrance and the summit of Uhuru peak is 4100 meters (13,450 ft) and the distance is 32 km (20 miles). Each way In all a good 64 km (40 miles) trek with the bonus of an ascent of one of the worlds finest 5000 meter peaks
The Umbwe Route
The Umbwe Route provides the shortest route to the Southern Glaciers and Western Breach of Kibo. An ascent of Kibo by Umbwe route is one of the finest non-technical mountaineering expeditions. It is serious route, unsuitable for the solitary or the inexperienced.
Day 1: Arrival day in Moshi/Arusha
We will pick you from arrival destination to the hotel booked for stay overnight. After enjoying your cup of Coffee/ Tea a short briefing about your tour will be presented with your organizer introduction to your Chief guide on trip will be follow. dinner and Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Umbwe gate to Umbwe Cave
From the 2,100m the path begins keeps to the narrow ridge crest between the Lonzo River on the west and the Umbwe River on the east. It is easy to follow as it continues up through the dense forest. The path continues to follow the ridge, rising steadily with some steep sections and scramble rocks. The route takes you to the first camp Umbwe cave (Bivouac No. 1 at 2,940m) in 5 to 6 hrs.
Day 3: Umbwe cave to Barranco
Keep ascent through steep and scramble rock across rainforest to moorland which it may take about 4 to 5hrs to reach Bivouac No 2 at 3,780m. After 1hrs walking you will reach to 3,900m and you will see the end of tree line. The path proceed cairn to the Southern Glacier branches right contouring into the Barraco situated at 4,000m is 2hrs from Bivouac No 2.
Day 4:
This is a good place to rest a day to acclimatize; you may spend your time at camp and snooze in the sun all day. If you are feel fit you may walk to high altitude and come down to relax in low this it will help you more to get well acclimatize.
Day 5: Barraco to Arrow glacier
The route to the Western Breach from the tree lines and then continue up to Umbwe ridge, which becomes the western lateral moraine of the peak and the route goes straight towards the Western Breach and then reach to Arrow Glacier which is situated at 4,800m.
Day 6: Arrow Glacier to Mweka Hut.
To ascent to summit on this day you may involve between 10 1/2 or 14 1/2 usually to start this day's walking early in the morning for idea to see the sunrise and also to avoid the mist the screen and snow on the ascent will still be frozen. So after 3 km. and 6 - 8 hours in 1100mts of ascent you will reach the top and descent through Barafu in 2800m. for 4 - 7 hours of walking in 12 km. you will reach Mweka Hut.
Day 7: Mweka Hut to Mweka Gate
After breakfast descend steeply through the forest on a narrow path in 10km. Of walking and 3 - 4 hours to reach Mweka Gate after 1400m. of descent
Day 8: Next destination

You need to bring: Your own sleeping bags, personal money for drinks,
extra food stuff such as glucose, cheese, biscuits, chocolates
(energy foodstuff), and mineral water
Advisable to bring : asprin, paracetamol, etc.
Torch and batteries, toilet paper, water bottles (3 to 4 litres)
Clothing : warm underwear, warm socks, gloves and warm hat, rain coat, sunglasses, sun protection cream (12-17), boots or walkers / climbers shoes, a walking stick (ski stick).
